Those are Charlie's words, and we believe he is doing exactly what he is aiming to do. A long-time blacksmith and bladesmith, Charlie Ellis crafts one-of-a-kind chef knives at his North Carolina workshop. Drawn to making kitchen cutlery originally by the need in his own kitchen for reliable, high-quality blades, the knives Charlie produced quickly advanced beyond objects of his own use, and soon become objects of art and precision for others to enjoy. Function-first designs with integral bolsters, compound bevel geometry, sculpted handles, and unique materials and blade finishes, are noteworthy elements of many of the kitchen tools in our collection handmade by Charlie.
