Meet The Makers

Leszek Sikon - England

Originally from Poland, bladesmith and metal artist Leszek Sikon has lived the better part of two decades in England, from London, to Hereford, to Suffolk where he crafts sole-authorship chef knives for home and professional chefs alike. Yearning for a change from a successful career in retail, Leszek began a blacksmithing course at a local arts college. There was no looking back. He went on to receive a BA in Artist Blacksmithing. Training, evolving, and refining his craft ever since, the history and traditional methods behind shaping metal with fire, hammer, and anvil inspire his work today. From house-made blade formulas to unique damascus patterns and the integral bolsters of function-forward kitchen knives, Leszek’s work is unpretentious, unique, and made for daily use in the kitchen. Over the years Leszek has been awarded with various accolades, from The Goldsmith Centre, to the Craft Council Hothouse, to the honor of QEST Scholar from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust.
