Solid and sturdy in the hand, balanced at the front of the handle's integral bolster, with a versatile and beautiful blade that sweeps upward from a tall, strong heel to a very thin, needle-like tip, this petty chef knife packs a big punch. Forged in Suffolk, UK by one of our newest bladesmiths, Leszek Sikon, this elegant piece of culinary art features a 140mm / 5.5" edge in dark, hard, and very clean (ie. few additives) "Spicy White" 26c3 steel with cladding of pure nickel and 01 tool steel. Whether performing detail work and precision slices with the tip, or chopping dense and hard ingredients with ease, both the excellent geometry and blade profile make this a versatile tool you'll find yourself reaching for frequently. A tapered handle of bog oak in traditional, tall octagonal form, meets the bolster to form a comfortable and hand-filling handle.

The Story

Originally from Poland, bladesmith and metal artist Leszek Sikon has focused his talents on cutlery for the kitchen for the better part of a decade, earning awards from the Craft Council Hothouse to the honor of QEST Scholar from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust. Living and working in Suffolk, England where he crafts sole-authorship chef knives for home and professional chefs alike, Leszek teaches knifemaking classes when not forging house-made damascus steels, go-mai chef blades, and other functional art for the kitchen.
