GoldVein by Kamon - GV No.2

An object with no equal, GoldVein No.2 represents the collaboration between GoldVein's founders Tobias Hangler, David Wolkerstorfer, and Abe Shaw, together with designer and world-renowned chef knife artist Benjamin Kamon. Forged by hand from proprietary blade steels developed in-house together with pure gold, then matched with ancient Austrian Bok Oak, zirconium, and gold-plated hardware, GoldVein No.2 is a one-of-a-kind-heirloom object built to perform at the highest level. Each blade component is molten, cast, and forged by hand. The bonding of 24k gold with carbon steel in this way is unprecedented, with the gold playing both an aesthetically striking roll in the finished knife as well as the technically requisite roll of inhibiting carbon diffusion during forging and hardening. No detail is overlooked, with balance, edge geometry, and utility paramount as they are with every GoldVein creation. From a thin, hard, razor-sharp edge to the rounded blade spine's full-distal taper and the handle's gold-plated screws, this purposeful tool is guaranteed to satisfy the most discerning chef. The design of this knife is that of Benjamin Kamon, while the finished product is the result of the four men's multiple decades of combined experience crafting world-class functional art.

The Story

The chef’s knife is a coveted and personal object, an extension of the cook’s hand, passed down through the generations, much like the recipes and culinary knowledge of our forefathers. Using proprietary techniques that include a mix of traditional methods and modern technologies, the finished GoldVein product has no equal. GoldVein's premium blade steels are developed in-house by our founders, who include Tobias Hangler, David Wolkerstorfer, and Eatingtools' Abe Shaw. Each blade component is molten, cast, and forged by hand. Incorporating pure gold, solid titanium, zirconium, and ancient Austrian bog oak among other ingredients, each chef knife is an heirloom object worthy of the world's most renowned kitchens.
