French Copper Fry Pan

Our French copper frying pan, meticulously handcrafted in Connecticut by metal-artist Tim Lucas, provides a consistent, heat-diffusing cooking experience to the discerning chef. Round in form and tinned on the inside, the fry pan is the workhorse of the kitchen, with 2" tall, straight walls offering the versatility to fry, sauté, sear, oven finish, and even make sauces. Inspired by a visit to the famed Marble House in Newport, RI where exquisite, vintage cookware is on display, Tim, a skilled metal turner, embarked on the journey to create a modern, hand-spun pan from thick, solid copper that does justice to the style cooking tool used for centuries and most associated with French kitchens. A multi-talented artisan with metal shaping in his DNA, Tim matches the weighted, polished copper to a beautifully finished, hand-forged handle of carbon steel that is secured with three solid copper pins. A show-stopper for the chef who deserves the best.

The Story

A master of his craft, Tim Lucas of Lucas Fabrications has spent time shaping metal for the automotive, pharmaceutical, aerospace, and nuclear industries. A career welder, Tim’s natural abilities in metal work, his technical skills, and repertoire of experience have expanded over the years. As he shifts focus toward precision objects for the home that combine function and art, Tim has taken aim at the niche metalworking areas of spinning, a highly specialized operation not often seen at small, bespoke scale, and hand forging, a combination that allows him to create luxurious tools for cooks and kitchens without equal. Based in Southern Connecticut, Tim’s passion draws from the knowledge that his creations will provide joy and memories for those lucky enough to cook with one of his tinned copper pans.
