A workhorse to tackle 90% of daily cooking needs in home and professional kitchens alike, this hand-forged damascus chef knife by Martin Huber boasts a razor-sharp 220mm / 8.7" edge in Martin's house-made. 100-layer carbon damascus, beautifully finished with hand-sanded convex bevels beneath forge-finished flats. Balanced just in front of the blade's rounded, polished choil the knife is comfortable and solid feeling in the hand, weighted for efficient and tireless prep work, the rounded spine further adding comfort in the pinch grip, and a pointed but strong and durable tip lending additional versatility. For control, and naturally classic good looks, the full-tang handle construction includes smooth, sculpted ironwood over thin black liners secured with three black G10 pins.

The Story

Introduced to metalsmithing as a mere toddler, Martin Huber, son and grandson to multiple blacksmiths, crafts handmade chef knives at his shop in Austria not far from where he grew up. After gaining experience with larger employers post-graduation, Martin began his own venture in 2016 and has been building handmade cutting tools since. An eye for culinary knives and a desire to put unique objects into the hands of chefs everywhere, Martin and his two employees design kitchen cutlery from house-made steels, ranging from unique mosaic damascus pattens to ku-mai construction and everything in between, sometimes collaborating with other makers, and always producing unique, one-of-a-kind object. Martin Huber knives are built to use, combining captivating material combinations and design styles with purpose-driven geometry and finishes.
