Gold Dot Spirograph Chef 222mm

Brazilian artist and bladesmith William Porto's newest damascus chef knife is enough to leave any cook breathless. While we have featured William's house-made spirograph damascus before, you have not seen it in this incredible form: a multi-bar mosaic of this carbon steel art, each bar twisted and assembled for a stunning, intricate, and repeating pattern from bolster to tip. Like every one-of-a-kind object that leaves William's studio, this creation is designed and built to use, its 222mm / 8.7" blade offering convex primary bevel geometry, a thin edge, slim, pointed tip, and full-distal taper along the rounded spine, all shaped for versatility and performance in the kitchen. Balancing at the front of the heirloom-fit integral bolster with its exquisite 24k gold inlays, the knife is quick and nimble in the hand, offering a touch of lateral flexibility through the tough and strong blade, as well as a nicely sculpted swell in the choil on which the middle finger comfortably rests while used in the pinch grip. Completing the handle behind damascus and gold is a simply carved and elegant piece of stabilized maple in hand-hugging Western form. Included is a custom-made alligator leather saya with pin.
