The 1095 carbon steel edge of James Oatley's first integral chef knife is flanked by mild steel cladding with a vein of nickel running between the alloys, giving the 252mm / 9.9" blade a dramatic feel. Tapering from 4.2mm above the heel to just 1.25mm an inch from the tip, this is a solid workhorse that balances just under an inch in front of the choil with a beautifully thin edge and fine tip. A 10.1oz / 306g full size chef knife to rule the kitchen and leave onlookers in awe.

Based in St. Leonards, Australia, James Oatley uses a variety of techniques and materials to produce heirloom-quality kitchen cutlery one at a time at his one-man studio.
