Walnut Raindrop Petty 165mm

A beautifully executed 'Raindrop' pattern forced patina is applied to the 52100 carbon steel blade of this petty chef knife by Matthew Rubendall of Brooklyn's Ruby Knives. In addition to being attractive and attention-getting in the kitchen, the patina provides an added layer of protection to the carbon steel which helps protect against oxidation and adds longevity. Thin, fast, and razor-sharp, the blade tapers to a very fine tip for precision slices, and offers a rounded, polished spine and choil for both comfort and good looks. With beautifully figured walnut crotch wood atop the handle, contrasted below are a layer of white oak, and a second layer of walnut, all of which is faceted and shaped for excellent comfort, and style. A handmade saya is included, matching the handle's walnut and white oak, with a center piece of cedar so that the blade's edge rests on a softer wood, and stainless steel pins around the perimeter.
