Horseshoe Oyster Shucker

Hand forged by Michael Waller, the Horseshoe Shucker is bound to impress lovers of both land and sea. These oyster shuckers are made from repurposed carbon steel horseshoes that were locally sourced from equestrian centers in North Carolina. Each shucker is unique with varied twists and forms of the steel. All display the characteristic raw and rustic appearance of Waller Handmade tools, the maker’s stamp at the handle, and the thick, durable blade capable of opening the toughest of oysters. Proudly exhibit your love for horses with a one-of-a-kind shucker that will leave your friends and family in awe of your shucking skills.

The Story

Waller Handmade was founded by sculptor Michael Waller in 2018 with a mission to create functional, handcrafted culinary art that can be handed down for generations. Michael Waller is a graduate of East Carolina University with a BFA in fine arts and a concentration in sculpture. He has been working as a professional sculptor and craftsman in North Carolina for over twenty years. Fusing sculpture and design with traditional and contemporary production methods allows a place where art, food, culture and heritage are forged together. Treat your Waller Handmade products with the same care as cast iron cookware - hand wash after use and coat with a food-safe mineral oil periodically.
